A foodpanda delivery rider was caught on CCTV stealing one of two parcels that were left outside a flat, according to this viral TikTok video. “POV: A foodpanda delivery rider steals your parcel without knowing that your doorbell serves as a CCTV too,” TikTok user @ginerfilms captioned in her video, which has racked up over 190K views at the time of writing.
In the video, said delivery rider was seen looking at two parcels, wrapped in black, that were left outside the flat. The man was prodding and examining the packages before he picked one up and walked off with it.
Unsurprisingly, there was a slew of comments in response to the video — 290 and counting, to be exact. Some netizens asked if a police report was made, others wanted to know what it was that he stole.
But what was unexpected, though, was how it inadvertently turned into a discussion about video doorbells and smart home devices and where to get them.
What brand and make is the CCTV doorbell? And where can they get it? The answer: the Google Nest Doorbell ($221 on Amazon), @ginerfilms stated in the comments.

Besides doubling up as a CCTV, the battery-powered doorbell also has a viewer motion detection function, and allows you to check on who’s at your door from anywhere, even when you’re not home, via an app. You can also talk and listen to visitors through a built-in speaker and microphone (we reviewed the Google Nest doorbell - read it here).
Other TikTok-ers also chimed in on other similar doorbells that they’ve used. Among those suggested was the Ring doorbell, which comes with similar functions like motion detection and an intercom (shop other video doorbells on Amazon).
Meanwhile, foodpanda has responded to the incident and told 8 Days: “The individual has been identified and his rider account has been terminated. foodpanda does not condone any criminal activity and prompt action including potential suspension or blacklist, will be taken against delivery partners who are found breaking the law.”
