Chinese star Li Yitong criticised for resting her bare feet on airplane seat

Chinese actress Li Yitong, 32, first rose to fame after her appearance as Huang Rong in the 2017 adaptation of wuxia novel, Legend of the Condor Heroes.

Her portrayal of the female protagonist in the show was so well received, she was dubbed “the most beautiful Huang Rong” by audiences.

Following that, she appeared in several fantasy and period dramas, including Bloody Romance (2018) and Love Between Fairy and Devil (2020), garnering further attention for her beauty.

However, the actress recently came under scrutiny for what some netizens deemed as “inelegant” behaviour.

The actress was photographed on a plane headed to Changsha, and many took issue with the way she was sitting.

The picture of Yitong saw her with her legs folded underneath her, her bare feet resting on her seat.

Does this look inelegant?

Netizens felt the way she sat has “ruined her good image”.

One netizen in particular said Yitong appeared to be seated in business class, and asserted that she should have “asked the stewardess to pass her a pair of slippers instead of placing her bare feet on the seat”.

They felt she was being “unhygienic”, “inconsiderate”, and “inelegant”.

There were also a handful of netizens who defended the star, saying that they didn’t find a problem with what she did.

“Is it so bad to take off [one’s] shoes? If [her] feet don't smell bad, and she wasn’t bothering anyone, why can’t she take her shoes off?” they wrote.

Really though. Is it so wrong for her to get comfy on her flight?
